Our mission is to present world-class chamber music through concert experiences that inform, inspire, and enrich the community. We remain profoundly committed to sharing our passion for chamber music with audiences of all ages and walks of life.  

The Charlotte Chamber Ensemble is committed to sharing the value of chamber music through performance, community service and education.

Our fervent hope is to continue as interpreters and performers of this remarkable art form wherever the journey may lead us.

Meet the Musicians

Oksana McCarthy
cello

Oksana McCarthy has an active career as a chamber musician and orchestra performer.

Oksana has performed extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australia, appearing at Sydney Opera House, Berlin Concert Hall, Munich Philharmonic Concert Hall, Hercules Hall, The ConcertGebouw, and Festspielhaus.

Abroad, she has performed with Chamber Ensemble tours in numerous cities of countries: Belgium, Switzerland, France, Netherlands, Germany, Luxemburg, Austria, Poland, Gran Canaria, Australia, Norway, Canada, Spain, Italy, Russia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan.


Tomoko Diguchi

Tomoko Deguchi started her performing career in Japan, specializing in contemporary music. She gave solo and joint recitals and has been featured performer at numerous concerts including the 20th-Century Piano Music series, the Young Artist Concert series, Kobe Art Conference Competition concert, and the Buffalo Contemporary Ensemble Concert series.

Deguchi is a professor of Music Theory at Winthrop University. Her research topics include music of Tōru Takemitsu and other Japanese composers, music and narrative, film music, and intersections between music theory, culture, and aesthetics, among others.

Tatiana Karpova
violin

Tatiana Karpova joined the Charlotte Symphony shortly after immigrating to the US in 1999.

A graduate of the Sverdlovsk Conservatory, she continued her musical studies at the Moscow Gnessin Institute of Music, where she completed her DMA.        

In 1988 Tatiana received a second prize at the David Oistrakh Violin Competition.
